The Book

Playboy’s Host & Bar Book was published in 1971 and billed as “The urban host’s authoritative guide to party-giving and the proper selection and serving of liquors and wines - with some 800 drink recipes.” It was written by Thomas Mario, who, as of the book’s publishing, had been serving as the Food and Drink Editor of Playboy since 1953.
